Catching up

I have a lot of catching up to do!  Whew!  Wright has been sick for the first time in her life and it has set me back a little.  Thank goodness, it hasn't messed with her sleep!  Anyway, I think we are on the downhill slide of her sickness, thank goodness!

So, let me catch up from the Superhero party...

Monday - we went to see Dr. Smith for Wright's 9 month appointment.  he said she was perfectly healthy!  What a blessing! She weighed 21.6 lbs (90th percentile).  She measured 29.25 inches(95th percentile).  She didn't have to get any shots, but she did get her finger pricked.

Tuesday - we went to Old Navy, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Home Goods and Ulta!  It was such a pretty day, so it was nice to be out and enjoy it.

Wednesday - we just stayed home most of the day and got the house picked up a little bit since the maid was coming on Thursday.

Thursday - Wright and I went to see my "little sister", Brittany, and her little boy, Sammy.  He is 6 weeks older than Wright.  We were so excited to see them and their new gorgeous home!  Brittany was one of my 7th grade cheerleaders and students my second year teaching.  She and I immediately hit it off.  And, her mom was so very sweet and friendly to me when I first started at CA.  Now, they both are like sisters to me.  LOVE LOVE LOVE them both OH SO MUCH!!!!!  I cannot imagine my life without them.  I know that I can always count on them to be there for me.

We had the best time visiting and letting Wright and Sammy play together!  We wish they would grow up and get married!  They make the cutest couple!!!

They had so much fun playing together and we had fun laughing at them!  After playing for a while, we went to eat lunch at Cracker Barrel.  We thought they would like some Chicken n' Dumplins!  And, they did!

Brittany and Sammy were going to the nursing home to sing, so Wright and I headed home after lunch.  It was a fun day and it did my heart good to be with them!

Friday - Mrs. Judy came over to keep Wright so I could go judge a cheer tryout.

We had a low key weekend.  It was cold and dreary on Saturday.  This was the day that Wright woke up with a yucky nose.  :(  She acted like she felt fine, but just had a runny nose.  We went to Sam's and that was pretty much it.  Sunday was a beautiful day.  I ran a few errands and that was all.

This past week went by so fast!  We stayed home Monday and Tuesday.  I judged another tryout on Wednesday.  My mama came up and kept Wright for me while I did that.  We got out and went shopping on Thursday.  Friday, we ate lunch with my cousins, Emily, Addi Grace, Kathryn and Harris.  I enjoyed catching up with them.  Emily and I are 6 months apart.  Here is a pic of us when we were younger standing in our nana's flowers.  We've always been like sisters.

We ate lunch at Beagle Bagel in Highland Village and then walked around a little bit.

Emily and I with our girls

Wright and I went shopping at Renaissance after we left them.  It was a beautiful, fun day.

Saturday, Wright and I went to New Hebron.  We went to a birthday party for my cousin, Melissa's little girl, Mallory.  It was nice to be home for a little while. Here's a pic of Wright, me and my sweet Hot Mama!

While we were at the party, Randy and his daddy were at our house building this swing.

We are going to put a swing for us in the middle and then a single swing on the other side.  As soon as I got home, I put Wright in the swing and she LOVES it!!!

Saturday night, Randy grilled steaks for us.  Wright and I sat on the patio with him while he grilled.  I put on my "layout" mix on my iPod speakers and we just enjoyed being outside.

We stayed home most of Sunday.  I miss going to sunday school and church, but I just don't want to put Wright in the nursery yet and have her get sick.  The sickness we are just about to get rid of was bad enough.  I feel so over protective but I just hate for her to be sick.  Anyway,  we went outside and let Wright swing.  I also let her play in the grass and she really liked that!  She liked pulling it out of the ground.

She and Randy played together a good bit.  I always like watching them play.

I put Wright down for her afternoon nap, then I went to run some errands.  I love the candles from Bath and Body Works and try to catch them when they have them 2 for $20 or 2 for $22.  So, I got an email that they had them on sale!  I ran over to the mall to get the scent I wanted and they were out of that scent! :(  I also needed to look for some maternity t-shirts that I need to appliqué on.

That is pretty much catches us up to today!  Here are some pics from the past few days:

Caught!  She LOVES to get in her food cabinet and pull it all out!

GiGi's cupcakes at a tryout I judged.  It was SOOOOOOOO HARD to resist eating one or twelve!  But, I DID!

Headed to WalMart

I don't like my side profile in this pic, but I love the way Wright is looking at me. :)

We're making the same face! :)

Tired out from shopping!

A superhero kinda day!

My nephew, Truett, had his 4th birthday party Saturday.  He LOVES anything to do with most any kind of superhero!  The party was at 10:00 and everyone was encouraged to dress as a superhero!  Truett was Captain America and Wright was Batgirl!  He looked super cute!

Hayes and Wilkes came dressed as Batman(Hayes) and Superman(Wilkes).  They were some cute superhero cousins!  This one cracks me up!  Wright is looking at Wilkes and Truett so funny!

Sweet cousins

Ryan and Kellie had everything fixed super cute!

BeBe and Wright

Pops and his girls

Wright loves her Aunt Jennifer!  She especially likes her jewelry!

Everywhere we go, the kids always love Randy!  Wilkes said Uncle Wandy is the best bouncer EVER!  So, guess where Uncle Wandy got to go.......the trampoline with the kids! hahaha!  He said they showed him LOTS of really cool tricks!

After the party, we ate lunch and just enjoyed being together.  It's always nice to watch cousins play.  Wright and Levi are 6 months apart and we all can't wait for them to be running around with the big cousins!

Sweet baby Batgirl!

It was a beautiful day for a party and we had such a good time!
Happy 4th Birthday Truett!

TGIF!

TGIF!  Even though I don't work all week, I still look forward to Friday's and the weekend!  It means more time with Randy and our little family and just fun.  We can do whatever we want and just enjoy spending time together!

I especially like Friday's during this time of year because I spend Friday afternoons judging cheerleader tryouts in the area.  I have been judging for many years and I just love it!  It's so much fun!  Today, I have a tryout at 4:00 and I am going to have Mrs. Judy come stay with Wright while I go.  She is always so willing to help me and I GREATLY appreciate it! :)  I usually leave around lunch so I can do a few errands before I go.

Tomorrow we are going to Grenada for Truett's(one of our nephews) 4th birthday party!  He is having a superhero party!  Wright is going dressed as Batgirl!  It will be a fun time!  A couple of my old cheerleaders want to come visit us when we get back and I am looking forward to that, too!  So, looks like birthday party and visiting with special friends will be our Saturday!  Sounds pretty good to me!

Wright's favorite thing to do is pull up!  She learned how last week and that's what she loves to do!  These are two pics I got of her on my phone this week.  She is a busy, busy girl!

We think she is going to have curly hair.  Randy and I both have the curls.  The other day, she had this one little curl on top of her head all day!  When I wash her hair at night, her whole head is curly!

I'm off to get ready for the day!  Have a great weekend!

A weekend in New Orleans

My sweet husband came home at the end of last week and said, "Let's go to New Orleans this weekend and take Wright to the zoo"!  I was so excited!  We haven't been anywhere since we went to Chicago in March before Wright was born.  This was Wright's first overnight trip to stay in a hotel.  She did great!

We left Saturday morning at 9:00 and got to New Orleans around 12:00.  Wright was a trooper riding in the car!  She slept just a little, then watched Mickey Mouse and played.

We were starving when we got there, so we went straight to Drago's by Riverwalk and ate a wonderful lunch!  I got fried shrimp and Randy got oysters.  Everyone thought Wright was so happy and well behaved!  She had all the wait staff LOVING her by the time we left!

I just love that cheesy smile!  Sweet, sweet baby girl!  After we ate, we walked around a little bit.  My parents are in New Orleans for a convention so we stopped by to see them.  It was great because we let Wright crawl around and not be strapped in a stroller or carseat for a little bit.  We visited with hot mama for a little while then we went back out to walk around.  It was SOOOOO windy and pretty chilly so we stayed inside the Saks shopping area for most of the time.

Wright had her first taxi ride that night to get us to the restaurant!  We went to eat that night at Oceana.  This is a blurry picture, but it's the best we got! :)

After dinner, we headed to our hotel.  Randy got a suite with 2 rooms for us and it was perfect!  We put Wright in one room and we were in the other.  We woke up Sunday morning and all three laid in the bed while Wright drank her bottle and we drank coffee.

Oh how I LOVE these little legs and hands!

This is not a very lady like pose but I just thought she looked cute!  She moves her legs all around when she is drinking her bottle.

We got up and got dressed for the day around 7:30.  I brought one of the outfits Randy got Wright for Christmas for her to wear to the zoo.  Randy loved seeing her in it!  You can't see, but it's got a cute little frog on the right hip.  The frog is wearing a pearl necklace!  It's so cute!  And, this is an 18 month outfit!

We ate brunch at The Ruby Slipper.  It was SO good!  We sat by a group of people that were about to board a Carnival cruise!  They were nervous!  I told them that they were probably going at the best time and they would be fine!
This is Wright all bundled up waiting to eat.

After we ate, we headed to the zoo.  It was a BEAUTIFUL day!  It wasn't too hot or too cold and there wasn't a cloud in the sky!

This picture is funny to me because Wright is doing something just like me!  Randy has always picked on me because if I am sitting around thinking, I sometimes put my hand on my chin and put my pointer finger on the side of my nose - just like Wright is doing in the picture!  She doesn't have her hand on her chin, but the finger on the nose is just like I do!

Randy was trying to get this gorilla to beat his chest and he kept making noises at him!  The gorilla would look over at Randy like, "I'm gonna kick your butt"!  I kept telling Randy, "STOP! He is gonna come get us!!!!!".  It was scaring me!

This is the best picture of us that I could get.  She kept eating the strap on her outfit!

We had such a fun family morning at the zoo!  Wright looks super tired in this picture but she really enjoyed it!

Sleepy baby girl

Of course, we had to stop at the gift shop on the way out and get her a t-shirt and a stuffed animal from the zoo!  Then, we headed home around 12:30.  Wright slept for about an hour and then just watched Mickey again!  We were really proud of how she did on her first big outing!
